ProMax Provides Hundreds of Document Cameras to Florida Schools

Promax Technology announced today that it will provide four hundreds document cameras to nine elementary and middle schools for Orange County Florida.  ProMax will supply the DP550 digital processing document camera to the schools.  The equipment will be used in conjunction with a LCD data projector to show any type of learning materials, such as books, 3-D objects, slides, negatives or transparencies.  Teachers will no longer need to make transparencies any more.  Now they can lay any documents or even an object such as a flower on the DP550 viewing table and project those images onto the screens.  Document cameras bundled with LCD projectors provide higher level of convenience and technology to enhance learning experiences for the students.

Nine new relief schools in Orange County are to be opened this fall due to a fast growth in students.  The nine schools are Bay Meadows Elementary School, Columbia and Bonneville Elementary, Cypress Springs Elementary, McCoy Elementary, Tildenville Lake Whitney Elementary, Discovery Middle School, Hunters Creek Middle School, Meadowbrook Middle School and Ocoee High School.  The schools need a robust desktop model document camera with comprehensive features for every day use.

“We have chosen to utilize ProMax document cameras because of the quality, features, and pricing.  We compared the ProMax unit to a large number of competitors, and we found no other unit that could provide the quality and features for the price.” said George Perreault, Director of Educational Technology for Orange County.

The schools will be able to take advantage of DP550’s built-in digital processing card and two RGB outputs for high image quality, 22 x optical zoom (and 10 x digital zoom), RGB computer input for switching between computer, DVD and camera, and USB functions to capture images and even movies from the DP550 to a computer.  The DP550 is also the one and only document camera model in the market that has a built-in central control system.  It allows the user to control projector power on/off and select input sources for any projector brand.

ProMax worked with authorized reseller, Southern Business Communications(SBC) to supply the document cameras to the schools. SBC also provided installations, trainings, and services on this project. For more information, please contact SBC at 1-866-291-5519.
